Grading
Final Grade
Grade <Final grade> for the course is determined by the formula:
<Final grade> = MIN(X, round(0.16 * <HW> + 0.2 * <QZ> + 0.29 * <CO> + 0.35 * <EX>)),
where:
- X=9 if student have defended from 3 to 5 bonus tasks from homework assignments to any seminarian of our course (not necessarily a seminarian of the student's group), X=10 if student have defended at least 6 bonus tasks from homework assignments to any seminarian of our course (not necessarily a seminarian of the student's group).
- <HW> - Homework assignments
- <QZ> - Quizzes
- <CO> - Colloquium
- <EX> - Examination control work
Automatic pass
If <AU> by the formula below is greater or equal to 5.0 then by automatic pass <Final grade> equals to <AU>:
<AU> = truncate(MIN(X, (0.16 * <HW> + 0.2 * <QZ> + 0.29 * <CO>)/0.65)),
where:
- truncate cuts off the decimal part without regard to the number's value (special rounding rules are NOT applied)
- X=9 if student have defended from 3 to 5 bonus tasks to any seminarian of our course (not necessarily a seminarian of the student's group), X=10 if student have defended at least 6 bonus tasks to any seminarian of our course (not necessarily a seminarian of the student's group).
Decision to apply for automatic pass must be made by the student prior to taking the exam.
Plagiarism rules
If plagiarism is detected (including material generated with the help of generative AI without prior approval from the teacher), the assessment element will be assigned a score of "0".
If there is a suspicion that the task was not completed independently, the teacher has the right to initiate an additional verification or a defense of this particular assessment element. The final grade for the element will be based on the results of such verification or defense.
The teacher also reserves the right to randomly invite any student to defend any assessment element, regardless of plagiarism or suspicion. If the student refuses or fails to defend the work, the grade for this element will be annulled and recorded as "0".
